Plenty of tweets from the English & Aussies during the BPL and barely any for the 2 Test match that has been going around. I recall many of these guys ramming in tweets and articles about how the IPL was sidelining the longer format that has been going around. Rarely can cricket have provided a better metaphor for the state of two nations than in the past fortnight or so. ^ Certain comments there suggests that we get booted out of the Test level. LOL Currently, the Ranji trophy is going on while the BBL is played in Australia. Not a whisper from these hypocrites. Imagine the sort of pounding we would receive if either one of our players participated in an IPL match while a Test series is going around (Ashes in this case). Most of the players from the Ashes squad are playing in this Big Bash.

When BBL started this week, they talked about IPL on Sky sports in the UK. They started off with how BBL is up there with IPL and how its a gateway for players to get an IPL contract. SKY here is going all out on the BBL probably because there are about a dozen english players playing this year and that they dont have the IPL.

exactly :)... And I also remember a lot of cricketers tweeting while the IPL was going on. There were many an admiration for Gayle's 175 and Miller's freak knock against RCB. Anyway, didn't love Mark Nicholas's article. To be fair, I've never subscribed to the idea that T20 is killing cricket. Regarding IPL and BBL, i watch it as a source of entertainment and nothing else.
