(Don't reveal play names, BCCI tells top court) Conversations taped The Crime Branch had submitted for forensic investigation several conversations they had taped between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) team principal Meiyappan son-in-law of BCCI chief N Srinivisan and punter and actor Vindu Dara Singh. Singh, in turn, was in touch with several other bookies like Pawan Jaipur, Sanjay Jaipur and Chandresh Jupiter, cops said. "All of them together got information from Meiyappan, based on which they placed bets on CSK and other teams. We had recorded the conversation and in our records, the Supreme Court-appointed Mudgal Committee blamed Meiyappan for the betting. But till that time we did not have forensic proof that the conversations were actually of Meiyappan. Now we have it on record," said a Crime Branch officer. Meiyappan's lawyers, citing several times before the magistrates that the conversations were not of him, got him out on bail, but the forensic reports confirm that Meiyappan had placed bets on his team with the crucial information he had access to that he also passed along to Singh. The telephonic transcripts had helped police nab all the people. The forensic corroboration will help the Crime Branch further strengthen its case. The Branch has already filed a chargesheet in the case, but most of the accused are out on bail.
