KhanSaab Posted July 2, 2014 Posted July 2, 2014 Thiago Silva is great but David Luiz, Alves and Marcelo are questionable. Fullbacks barely defend anyway, its more Luis Gustavo acting as an auxillary center back and he has been stellar in that role.

David Luiz, Danny Alves and Thiago Silva are some of the best defenders in the world. The problem with Brazil is that players are out of form and there aren't enough back up replacements. The replacement for Fred is Jo - even David Luiz would be a better forward than Jo. I called him a chewtiya because he dives deliberately. The referees are just FIFA stooges - these dives etc. generates more interest in the game and FIFA is happy raking the moolah. Robben should get one YC early in the game and then see how it f*** up his mind. Brazil had a better defence in 1994. Very strong. This current defence is weak in full back positions both great going forwards but when asked to defend.... Also massive problem is center forward. Fred is rubbish, can Brazil do a france in 1998 and win without a forward? Great they have dropped pauliniho he was awful and is soooo average. Home support may seem them through to the final

Spain delibreatley did not pick a forward. Here for Brazi and in 98 with France the system requires a forward. Thus both are picking a forward who is totally useless

That is approx. losing the ball once every 2 minutes! The goal was his redemption. Tevez is not on the squad due to issues with the manager, I think.

But Luiz passes are great and what precision! :hatsoff: As for Danny Alves, he is not moving enough - just stationary, not getting in the box to create chances.

This despite, Scolari ready to play him in the 1st line up.

I think Brazil would do better with Hulk as a false 9 and move Oscar to the middle with another winger outside but Scolari doesnt like to change formations. I like Luiz but more as a d-mid. He is aggressive and is a real ball hunter. I think Dante can replace him in the center of the defence easily. That takes Paulinho/Fernandinho out of the lineup and makes Brazil more threatning on set pieces as well.
