Bongosamaj Posted November 9, 2007 Posted November 9, 2007 These OS issues reinforces to me the eternal virtue of an OS like UNIX  too bad we just can't put an aircraft engine in a car UNIX is pretty sweet if you are a nerd- but i personally don't like it that much- it is a bit too 'barebone'. But whatever it does, it does very very well indeed.
Mandrake Posted November 9, 2007 Posted November 9, 2007 I recently got myself a macbook....Apple says Mac OSX is not prone to virus attacks and no anti virus software is required on macs...we'll see....

Yeah. Mac is pretty sweet. Trouble I have with Mac ( my girlfriend uses a Mac) is that when it bolloxes up, I dunno what to do- nobody knows what to do, except Apple and they charge an arm & a leg to fix your Mac if its broken & past warranty period. Mac is pretty slick and does what it does very nicely, except that its quite literally, unfixable in my books.
