Pakistan recall Sami for India Tests

Picking Faisal Iqbal is a good move. I don't know why Pakistanis keep slaughtering him on their boards. He is an attacking batsman who can use his feet superbly against the spinners - playing him in the middle order would allow PAK to counter Harbhajan and Kumble.

yaar M Sami is ok unless they try to turn him in to a medium pacer.

yeah ... i mean Kaneria is going to be meat and drink ... no spinner does well against India (tests) .. period. Kaneria will deliver a 5-135 in one match or the other. But it wont be enough to do anything. In indian batting conditions, especially if a patta comes up somewhere Afridi may have been a useful player down the order.

He would have batted at #7 and would have allowed PAK to play an extra seamer(something which they really lacked in the series against SA). Now if the Indians prepare spinning pitches then the ICFers won't get their wish(M Sami won't be selected)

dont think you will see anything turning too much aside from Mumbai ... I think india will prefer to go the swing and seam route since we only have to counter Actor for his first spell Gul is a honest trier ... may get a good innings return once .... the rest are tripe

Yeah the bowling is really starting to look thin now. What could have been a bowling attack of Akhtar, Asif, Gul, Kaneria and Afridi has now been reduced to Akhtar, Gul, Kaneria and A Rehman(or M Sami)

It wont happen ... but then again India has this silly habit of playing to their opponents level ... you will rarely see us destroy oppositions ... we will raise our game and yet also play below average based on the opposition. We will create a new batting star and some new bowler will create a buzz against us. Happens every test series

Guys M Sami is fast and if he has picked his line and length as his domestic form suggetss then he can be cause of headache in test series.. don't be so over confident..

I wish Asif was healthy and bowling at his best. He has always troubled our batsmen, and it would have been nice to have faced him (and hopefully figured him out) before going to Australia.

Afridi will be missed by Pakistan for sure. His run-ins with Gambhir, his cr@ppy wicketless bowling spells @ 7 rpo or his explosive 4 off 2 balls at 200 SR will all be a huge bonus for Pakistan. I wish we had a player like him in our ranks!

A gem on Afridi by some Pak fan from another board. An insightful view expressing a simple point:

Guys......Afridi does NOT belong in test matches becuase; 1) He is not a specialist batsman. 2) He is the best ODI bowler in Pak team but he is not a test bowler because of his wicket taking ability. 3) He is not an test all rounder.....because of the above two reasons. If we play him as a batsman, we'll be ONE batsman short. If we play him as a bowler, we'll be one bowler short!
