Mr. Wicket
Because it's a team game. Yousuf, Eunice and Butt made runs, and a lot of the rest didn't. Tanvir picked up wickets, others didn't. With India, nobody made centuries. Ganguly provided starts, Tendulkar played some big innings, Yuvraj and Dhoni batted well in tandem, even Gambhir chipped in at points. Bowling-wise, everyone chipped in without too many weak links in the middle overs. Link to comment

Sohail Tanvir tops the Bowling Averages for Pakistan with 22.25! singular statistics are rather misleading. And then there are just inconsistencies. Three of the top performers for india in the department of batting scored more runs than the entire Pakistani side combined. Hence, if Mohammed Yousuf managed 183 (which over 5 matches is a paltry 36.6) he did not quite achieve much as he recieved little support. Tanvir's record received a boost with a 4 wicket haul in the last game which then brought down his overall average. not to take anything away from the lad, both him and akhtar bowled exceptionally well in patches but leaked too many runs inbetween. heck, sreesanth's average is better than everyone but he just played one match to make much of an impact. highest score counts for little. just as best bowling figures since they are all indicative of a single performance. hypothetically had a bowler bowled one good match with a 5 wicket haul but managed only one or two wickets in the remaining 4 matches, he would be around the top of the list too, rather undeservedly. and finally, kudos for the century, but for all practical purposes tendulkar scored two himself. kablooee87
Pakistan depened on too few personnel to carry the team. India had a more well rounded batting lineup. Link to comment

Yuvraj4Captaincy
pakistanis played crap..thats y they lost...yousuf alone cant win u games plus he lacks big hitting powers at the end. he needed someone else to hit out when playin with him but both got stuck. Link to comment
bharat297
Basically stats dont mean much ... India contained Pakistan well in their middle overs and capitalised with our middle overs... I think thats the main reason why we won and Pakistan lost Link to comment
Chaos
yousuf, this man was damn lucky in this series. All the LBW's and Catches were either not given or dropped. Hence this many runs, but hey he doesnt hurt us that much with his pathetic RR at the beginning. Link to comment
Chaos
talking about tanveer? 3 out of his 4 wickets are from REAL REAL poor shots, if it wasnt a dead rubber we wouldnt expect these shots from tendu specifically! Link to comment
