Yuvraj4Captaincy
I dont think Laxman is right for # 3...dravid should be given the most opportunity to bat.he is our best test bat..either laxman can come at #4 ahead of tendulkar and #5 batsmen or at # 5 instead of #6. Link to comment
The Outsider
Utter rubbish!! Blaming our best batsman for a braindead performance from the tail!! Link to comment
Mr. Wicket
Neither did Waugh. It's not Laxman's fault that our tailenders are incompetent fools. Waugh gave strike to the tailenders, recognizing their batting abilities and expecting more out of them for the faith he put in. Lee eventually turned into a very handy lower order batsman. Warne produced some sterling cameos down the order. McGrath did more than triple his test average from around 2 at one stage, and made a test 50. Gillespie turned into a genuine thorn in opposition teams' arses and helped save and win some games/series from his batting. Laxman also treated the tailenders in a similar manner to Waugh, and he probably had more to work with than Waugh when he started batting with such a mentality. Harbhajan has produced some great cameos with the bat, Zaheer has the highest score by any no.11 batsman and Kumble has a test ton in England. Laxman gets nothing for his faith. NOT his fault.
