There was no need for SC to intervene with the Mudgal committee' date= much like it was done in case of the players involved with spot fixing. Whatever happened to those spot fixing cases anyways? That is a call to be taken by the highest court of the country and by the most eminent jurists of the country and not by anonymous posters on a forum.

You've again got to be kidding me. The police didn't jump the normal courts but a PIL was filed in the SC. Please take some time to read up the timeline - both legal and other facts.

Cricket Association of Bihar filed a PIL in Bombay HC (not in the SC) against the IPL probe panel. Bombay HC declared the panel illegal and then BCCI moved SC.

Why should SC do the work BCCI is supposed to do? The BCCI should give the punishment and then SC will monitor of its sufficient. SC's job is the uphold the law, not make executive decisions on behalf of the BCCI.
