Insidious Posted January 17, 2015 Posted January 17, 2015 Nope. Shyte is shyte be it at 115 kph or 135 kph. I would take Praveen Kumar's control at 125 kph anyday over the dross Aaron & Yadav bowl. Pk l, oh that illustrious bowler who was the 'part' of that great bowling line up that got pumelled by Bangladesh.:haha: Amazing control indeed :giggle:
HippoSucks Posted January 17, 2015 Posted January 17, 2015 I don't think it is that big of an issue. If he had been selected, he may have done well. But we aren't missing out on too much by not selecting him.
Ultimate_Game Posted January 17, 2015 Posted January 17, 2015 Pk l' date=' oh that illustrious bowler who was the 'part' of that great bowling line up that got pumelled by Bangladesh.:haha: Amazing control indeed :giggle:[/quote'] And the same guy won us Asia Cup in SL and CB Series in Aus. We have all seen what Aaron & Yadav have "won" for us. And the same trundling PK still averages way lower than Aaron in every format.
MK55 Posted January 17, 2015 Posted January 17, 2015 We are taking a massive risk by including just 4 pacers in our squad. If these supposedly more accurate but slow bowlers don't manage to take early wickets, they will be taken to the cleaners in the later overs. Nevertheless, we are over estimating the runs-containing ability of the slow-medium bowlers. Lets observe how they perform in the tri-series first. Even if they are slight more economical, I'll rather have a strike bowler who's concedes some extra runs but manages to take wickets. By not including Aaron, we don't even have an alternative option in case things don't work out as planned. Other teams have included strike bowlers such as Cummins, Milne despite them being expensive. At least they have an option of choosing them.
Insidious Posted January 17, 2015 Posted January 17, 2015 Adam Milne and Varun aaron. Both have similar pace. Adam milne Bowling stats in Odis Matches-13 avg- 52.66, Yet he is a part of NZ team for WC, (remember:They have such A huge pool of fast bowlers) varun aaron Bowling stats in odis Matches-9 avg-38, Yet he is not good enough to be in the India's WC squad. How will we produce world class fast bowlers, if we don't show enough patience with them
Shivaji bhonsle Posted January 17, 2015 Author Posted January 17, 2015 Its hard to explain people about fast bowling when they haven't played cricket or tried to bowl fast in their lives'. I don't want to sound rude, but it is what it is. Watching cricket on TV don't make you understand lot of things about cricket , especially fast bowling. I would just leave it there. Its not aimed at anyone. Chill.

Ultimate_Game Posted January 17, 2015 Posted January 17, 2015 In same sense I can say Yadav own us Chamions Trophy' date=' which is more than any CB series, and Asia cup[/quote'] Nope he didn't. During CT, the pitches were slow and spin friendly. Our spinners (especially Jadeja) were able to make life miserable for other teams and Dhawan was in the form of his life. If I have to pick one player it would be Dhawan.

He was found out in CB series in 2012, and was dropped after his mediocre performance. It was Ishant sharma and his pace and intimidation that actually helped India to reach final in CB series 2008.
AmreekanDesi Posted January 17, 2015 Posted January 17, 2015 Varun bowls wide filth. Need some direction. Yadav is enough pace.
Insidious Posted January 17, 2015 Posted January 17, 2015 @Ultimate_Game What is your opinion about this On the last day of the Brisbane Test, I was in commentary with Shane Warne and he almost made a plea to retain Aaron. He thought Aaron could win India matches but could only do so if he was persevered with. Interestingly, Wasim Akram has often said that you cannot teach pace and that if a bowler has it, you must hold onto him. “You can teach a bowler swing but you cannot teach him pace” he often says. In India we take pace bowlers and convert them into line and length creatures. We ensure they cannot win matches and have a career that is long and ineffective. - http://indianexpress.com/article/sports/cricket/talking-sport-harsha-bhogle-india-are-blowing-hot-blowing-cold-simultaneously/ Seriously some posters here are still loving trundlers

Smilarly he cleaned up SL in Asia Cup final and was consistnt throughout. Check the stats and you will see how PK's performance is not even in the same ballpark as Umesh Yadav's or Aaron's in any tourney. PK was instrumental in winning us 2 tourneys which I don't think we will ever see Yadav & Aaron boast of. You want to poke fun at PK, go ahead but that doesn't change the fact PK has done more for the Indian team than Aaron & Yadav combined, and he averages lower than both of those "phaaaast" bowlers in every format as well.
Insidious Posted January 17, 2015 Posted January 17, 2015 Varun bowls wide filth. Need some direction. Yadav is enough pace. Milne has worst Average 52+ Why then he got selected for WC?
Ultimate_Game Posted January 17, 2015 Posted January 17, 2015 @Ultimate_Game What is your opinion about this http://indianexpress.com/article/sports/cricket/talking-sport-harsha-bhogle-india-are-blowing-hot-blowing-cold-simultaneously/ Seriously some posters here are still loving trundlers  If I'm a former Australian player I would love to have Aaron and Yadav in every match India plays as well. We have all seen how great Aaron and Yadav have been despite being in or around the team for the last 3 years or so.
Ultimate_Game Posted January 17, 2015 Posted January 17, 2015 Milne has worst Average 52+ Why then he got selected for WC? He plays for NZ - a team which has never even reached a WC final! For crying out loud are we trying to follow what cr@ppy teams like Pakistan and New zealand are doing?
AmreekanDesi Posted January 17, 2015 Posted January 17, 2015 Milne has worst Average 52+ Why then he got selected for WC? he has barely played 5-6 matches and no test matches. so he's raw and theres a lot of hope around him. and more importantly he has prolly looked promising. Aaron has played enough for us to know what he offers. Thats why Yadav should be there. He hasnt set the world alight either but he's shown the potential and the ability
AmreekanDesi Posted January 17, 2015 Posted January 17, 2015 The idiots at BCCI are to blame. WHY THE HECK dont we have a world class or atleast a good bowling coach. We have a nobody as a bowling coach and whose career has already been topped off by these guys

JUst play him in a test match in India, I don't think he is even good to take a tailender's wicket in India in tests. The reason why he was never selected in tests after India's English tour.

Was still our best bowler in England. He was the only one who did something of note there. As for taking "tailender" wkts yup we have all seen how Varun "Thomson" Aaron and Umesh "Lillee" yadav knocked over Aussie tail in the recent series :haha:

Brett lee an average test bowler but gun odi bowlers. So there are exceptions.
