What are the chances of Boult and Southee not striking up front though? 1%? Has it even happened once in this world cup? They're a way better attack than any other team Aus have faced and that showed in the Eden Park game. There's also no reason it won't swing at the MCG if Boult can get swing in SL, UAE, Windies etc.

Very easy to look good when the ball is hooping like a boomerang at Eden Park. It won't swing much at the MCG. Pakistan have a better attack and we handled that fairly well. Get past Boult and I'd fancy our chances against Anderson, Henry, etc. Even Anderson doesn't swing it much at the MCG and he is just as good.

It was swinging a foot! It won't even swing at all after the first 6 overs or so in Melbourne. Dry day expected, blue skies and it won't swing. That is a good thing. Flat pitch, big boundaries, NZ have to hit it 80m rather than 50m for sixes! Anderson may have lost his pace, but he swings the ball. Even Starc didn't swing it much against England apart from his first few overs. It rarely swings in Melbourne, which is fantastic for the game. We don't need a pitch or conditions where it swings a mile. Was good once, we don't need it again.

Big boundaries require a heck of a lot more skill than hacking a top edge that goes for six in NZ. NZ needs cricket grounds, these rugby grounds are too small. 50 m boundaries are not good for the game. Watch it not swing in Melbourne after the first few overs, then we can feast on Anderson's party pie bowling. Vettori will be the key and he is the one that is worrying for an Australian at least. Well him and boult. We should be able to take down the rest.
