How rural India gives clean atmosphere, not having cars and riding bikes is healthy, saves pollution, and numerous other things... All that talk can sound hypocritical if it is delivered from the comforts of living abroad. After all, we are not the ones doing it, we are asking and encouraging others! Mind you, we are not talking abt just sending dollars and pounds and dinars to India, but actually living and doing work in rural India. 'Doing work' that's the leitmotif of the debate.. In trainee doctor's case that purpose gets served by taking one year internship so be it. What I object to is what good comes from me living and let us say ploughing field in my village or any other village. There are enough people to plough field in fact if anything even there some labour-count shedding is required. In light of this I find the point of why-aren't-you-living-in-village tirade worthy of high-school level debate or primary school level mindless lecturing. If it makes sense do it lest there is no point in suffering together focus sud be how to ameliorate the suffering of others in those places. I have done every sort of calculation my living outside serves much larger purpose. No I am not talking aboutjust the annual ritual of throwing some dollars and done with it, it's much more than that. Even for these uncles/aunts complaining about how their habitat of Bangalore is being ruined or getting out of reach for them , my beef is why they must live in Bangalore only why not 20 kms outside city. Near New delhi there are many satellite towns like Faridabad Gaziabad etc why can't that be replicated as opposed to people calling for kill IT industry.. You will find all the elite class moving to that part and it makes perfect sense..

Which is again why I reiterate you should ask the person if you are unable to understand his viewpoint without start issuing judgement carte-blanche. Lets take the example of 2 debates which I have had with you thus far. The first one was where the Doctors were suggested to practice in villages for 1 year. Read the fine-prints. 1 year. How is that the same as moving to villages?? I had mentioned in the debate that there is a good chance that if the same set of Doctors were asked to practice in one of Western World hospitals say USA/UK there may have been a line outside USA counsellate to get Medical visas. Now by the same token you should think that I advocate people to move to USA? In other words in one discussion you make two opinions of me and both of them is plain wrong. In this debate we are discussing the affect of IT on Bangalore prices. Again this is hardly my doing. Read the article from Outlook, read the stats where 60% of the houses are being picked up by IT people. Since the cost of housing is going up in Bangalore AND IT people are picking most of the houses, do you see a connection between the two here? I hope I have clarified my stance now. Now is it fair to assume that since you spent about 20 posts on this thread judgming me, you will put atleast half that number on the subject itself and show where the author is going wrong? xxxx
