Rajiv
With Lanka, wouldn't it be better to play a winning team throughout the series Only exception can be Sehwag but please no more musical chairs Link to comment
Lurker
Re: Should we still experiment ? I would like the experiement to be regarding two aspects: 1) Role of Kumble, Harbhajan and Powar. By default Kumble and Harbhajan get it but Powar has proved himself whenever he has gotten a chance. Plus he is more traditional kind of player where he gives the ball a lot of air and tweak. Sadly his batting has gone down and at this time he is no better than Kumble and Bhajji(in batting) 2) Role of Pathan. I am not convinced he is an automatic selection. We need to grill him as much as we can but without upsetting our batting order. It would be crucial to see how he is played. Everything else I beleive is more or less settled. xxx Link to comment
King Tendulkar
Re: Should we still experiment ? Yuvraj should bat 3 for a couple of games. Not to experiment just to ensure he gets time in the middle. Link to comment
Parth
Re: Should we still experiment ? I belive we should experiment against Sri Lanka in the first two ODI's but in the last 2 ODI's we should put in our best team. Link to comment
kumble_rocks
Re: Should we still experiment ? Should Yuvraj play instead of Kartick in the middle order for WC 2007. I am not sure. But for God's sake get Sehwag back immediately. In these Flat tracks , even he would have worked himself into form. Link to comment
Bumper
Re: Should we still experiment ? Yuvraj must be allowed to bat at 3. SRT, Dravid must rest atleast 2 games. Sehwag should be tried at 4 as well as at the death. Pathan gets one more game. If he leaks runs like he did, drop him from the probables. I'd take Sreesanth in place of him. Atleast Sree has more match winning potential. Or even RPS can fare no worse than Pathan. Munaf must play only if fully fit. He is known to aggravate his injury when playing partially fit. I think at this point, Powar is ATLEAST as valuable as Kumble as a ODI bowler, hence no room for Kumble in the WC squad. KKD gets a few more chances., to put Raina out of the squad. Dhoni can rest. I dont think we really need to pick allrounders. Between Tendu, Sehwag & Yuvraj in WI conditions, we have guaranteed 10 overs. Link to comment
