In your analogy the operative context is - 1984 riots and a chap affected by it. For starters I would argue that it is discriminatory and illegal but lets go ahead and assume that for a second. Now my first question to you is - Would a Sikh from Bangalore be allowed to guard Sonia? Someone who was born far far away from Delhi? My second question to you would be - Were Sikhs allowed to guard Sonia before 1984? heck wasnt Indira gandhi defended by Sikhs? So if the issue is 1984 what is the logic behind keeping Muslims away? Which bring me to my question which you keep escaping from - What have the Muslim officers of Indian Armed Forces done to be mistreated? Give me some examples. xxx

Amry generals know what they are doing.. They very aptly employ these peple thereby taking any recurrance of parititon-time like event out of euqation. I see no reason to give letures to army generals on how to run the show. Their method is efficient and there is no room for politicising them. Full marks to them for saying know to the communal number-count.. all these numbers u guys are putting is just hear-say noone will ever know what goes inside. Yes the critical mass theory fortriggering separatis that means mmutiny in army holds. Every politician across party line knows that and understands the fact that army is too important an insittution for political slug-fest so they let generals do what is required for the defence.. Latest case in point was dropping of communal head-count projet when army general protested yes despite commies wielding so much power they didn;t allow it. All this and that raju gentleman and xyz's words are mere speculation viz a viz army demogaphy..
