They should review their Pak policy under thorough feedback from other think tanks regarding funding and weaponization of Paki army. I wouldn't be surprised if rid Mushy becomes new US policy overtly or covertly.

Even though suicide bomb blasts have become rather norm in Pakistan, very unfortunately of course, this news left a very bad feeling in my stomach, as also in most Indians I suppose. Somehow we have all thought that BB(or Nawaz Sharif for that matter) would be attacked, but they shall still survive and it would be the poor supporters who took the hit. This time it was BB. Plus it seems a matter of careful execution - shot in head, neck and then blasted away. Freaking scary. Hows the situation in Pakistan, specially in big cities? Any inside information? xxx

I heard in Karachi they have blocked a lot of the main roads and are burning tires. In Lahore almost all the shops are shut down as people are afraid that their shops will be burnt.:sad_smile::sad_smile::sad_smile:

I think this is a great loss to Pakistan, not to mention its image. BB was perhaps the most respected Pakistani leader in the world. Her image of a well-educated, anti-terrorism, Secularist and a woman at that helped not only her image but also Pakistan. The critics who label her as a creation of Western media fail to realize that Benazir Bhutto brought lot more goodwill to Pakistan than Musharraf, Nawaz Sharif and all those loony Maulana brigade combined. Commiserations are pouring in. US/China/ India have officially sent condolenses. The question of course is - who dunnit? xxx

Even though her political career was tarnished by the corruption it was still comforting to know that a Pakistani woman was given a chance(twice) to lead the country and in a funny way that in itself was something to proud of.

theguyinallblue Posted December 27, 2007 Posted December 27, 2007 i have no sympathy for her now.. i just heard her last public rally before her assassination.. she was not kind towards India..and as usual spit venom on "Hindustan"... she was killed by muslims...her own countrymen.. her own people... just another person in pakistan killed... big deal... at least her family is rich enough to enjoy the life for next 7 generations..

On another note, this shows how much unsafe the world is at the moment and Security concerns will have an impact on US Presidential election, people may choose old hands of McCain or Hillary Clinton to deal with tough international issues rather than going to inexperienced ones. Pakistan lost a leader who could have turned the country back into democracy.

Her and her husband's personal agendas never allowed the country to move forward. Having said that i do feel for her three young kids, it is not their fault that thier mom was a corrupt leader and has been brutally murdered.
