Gambhir is playing Ranji Trophy now (84 and 40 runs): was he really "injured"?

Delhi 338 and 105 for 2 (Gambhir 40) beat Tamil Nadu 268 and 174 by 8 wickets Scorecard With Delhi needing 95 runs to win the match, the only contest in Chennai was whether Delhi would get a bonus point. That contest ended when Aakash Chopra got out in the 11th over of the day, even as Delhi cruised to an eight-wicket win over Tamil Nadu. With Saurashtra drawing their match against Mumbai, the bonus point proved immaterial as Delhi still ended at top of Group A. Gautam Gambhir scored 40, and Mithun Manhas a quick 32 off 21 balls. 327598.jpg?alt=2 Gautam Gambhir's 40 meant there were no hiccups as Delhi secured a place in the semi-finals © Cricinfo Ltd

Yes, he was. He could not play the previous game vs Karnataka despite being named the skipper of the squad. A rest of about 10 days was given to him after the Banglore test and after that he got fit to play the last league game of Ranji for Delhi vs TN. Why did you not raise this question when he didn't play the previous game?

Harsha was actually taking about this during the test match. He said - "Gambhir's shoulder was injured, which is why he was advised to rest for 3 weeks and not not tour Australia because he would not be able to field" (first of all a sore shoulder is hardly an injury), then he said "Well I hope he's fielding in the slip cordon!!" and he started laughing.
