Australia Live on SopCast but each time I go to a like to watch it, I see like 2 seconds of the match and then I get an error from IE and it closes. Does anyone know how to fix the problem so I can see the match? Thanks in advance!

Grim Reaper Posted January 2, 2008 Author Posted January 2, 2008 It just says that IE has encountered a problem and needs to close. This has never happened to me before, I don't know why I've got this issue, especially when match is going on! >.

I really want to see that match streaming live badly but it just won't work for me. I tried reinstalling, changing broswers, opening in media player but still I can't see it for more than 2-3 seconds. :((:((:((

maggot_brain Posted January 4, 2008 Posted January 4, 2008 why? Because using Activex in general is a huge security risk and using a plugin for firefox that is not actively developed is even worse. Plus the plugin only works on Firefox up to version 1.5. All in all a big no-no.

And as far as security issues go, the script is unsigned but its developed by sopcast. So if you trust the Sopcast application, there's no reason not to trust a plugin developed by them.

It's the fact that you have to use an old version of Firefox (1.5) that has multiple and known critical security vulnerabilites. Also if you use activex there's always a risk. Just don't do it. Have you tried clearing the cache in Internet Explorer and restarting the computer? I know this sounds obvious but I've had to do this a few times with sopcast.
maggot_brain Posted January 4, 2008 Posted January 4, 2008 Anyway I've given up on Sopcast and I pay for my streaming now. I've found a much better site than my previous one: tvstreams.tv £6.99 for one month. I just got sick of Sopcast messing up all the time or the links going down.
