Punjab Cricket Association put under RTI

Punjab's Information Commission has held that the Punjab Cricket Association (PCA) would be considered as 'public authority' under the provisions of the Right to Information (RTI) Act.

Chief Information Commissioner S.S. Channy said on Wednesday that a full bench of the commission had decided that the PCA, a powerful cricketing body that controls the game in the state, was a public authority under the RTI Act.

Another precedent being set towards transparency. If the parent body, the BCCI is considered a private body, then how can any state association be considered public? This discrepancy is confusing.

Good news. But, I wonder if RTI is actually a revelation in itself and a tool to end corruption or look into it.
