Radhakrishnan, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, B.R. Ambedkar, Mother Teresa, C.V. Raman, Nelson Mandela etc. Since 2001 (after Lata Mangeshkar), 7 years have elapsed and no one is bestowed this highest honor. India has a true "Jewel" from the field of sports in Sachin Tendulkar. Bharat Ratna to Sachin Tendulkar will only enhance the credibility of this award. And there isn't a better way to show Nations love by bestowing Bharat Ratna when BOSS is still playing for our country. Perhaps right, because of "Nehruvian" legacy we inherited..p-secs like Rajiv Gandhi received the award at the same time with great leader like Sardar Patel (ignored by Congress Mafia throughout post independence). But still Bharat Ratna remains the highest civilian award and fact tat since last 7 years no one has received it is a proof in itself. If Rajiv Gandhi can be "decorated" with it, the Sachin Tendulkar is definately far ahead and much deserving.

More disgusting is the fact that India's greatest leader Sardar Patel received it after Rajiv...thanks to Congressi mafia governanance. Howere, at present situation is bit different as Nationalists have a fair say in it...that is the reason why since last 7 years none has received it. I think to redeem the credibility of our nations highest award, the most popular and equally respected Indian like Boss should be given this.
theguyinallblue Posted January 6, 2008 Posted January 6, 2008 what is more glaring that...Subhash Chandra Bose was not given till '90s..and when govt intended to give Bharat Ratna to Him...His family denied it.. :finger: to indian Govt... i would not like to see sachin as Bharat Ratna awardee...instead May be Ratan Tata or Narayan Murthi or the NGO who started the mission of "Right to Information"...

Congressi hate his guts reason nehru was nobody and got zero vote from the rest of the cwc member for PM post and basically PM's post he got was gift from Gandhi and Patel.. Recently while celebrating 1857 bi-centenary year they compiled list of prominent freedom-fighters and Patel's name was missing.. yes u heard me right Patel's name was missing.. I wud have condoned that idiot Rajeev gandhi had he actually done anything.. Other than sikh-riot he has done nothign can't even claim to be of clean character either ..

Bharat Ratna, like many of the other top civillian awards in other nations, is NOT limited to citizens only. Its a bloody farce to question Mandela's Bharat Ratna award.
