observer1 Posted January 6, 2008 Share Posted January 6, 2008 Having watched the game from the mid70s, including the era of the windies dominance, the pak teams crushing india, i ask myself whether the greatest teams of their eras would have behaved as ungraciously as ponting's primadonnas did this morning. the answer in my mind is largely yes lloyd's team of the late 70s and early 80s: yes richards' team: definitely yes imran khan's team: yes border: yes mark taylor: maybe waugh: probably so, gentlemen, winning brings to it the mentality and attitudes of a pack of hunting dogs. mock them if you want, but dont expect them to be gentlemanly. the umpires, though, that is a different story altogether...
