Why no Shikhar Dhawan for SL ODIs ?

given the fact that our batsmen r struggling against spinners & only sehwag & gambhir doing well, then y didnt the selectors pick shikhar dhawan who bats similar to gambhir & is a excellent player of spin. y do useless players like rohit sharma get selected everytime when he continously has been flopping. dhawan, even was the highest run-getter from india & the 2nd highest overall in the emerging players cup, did well in domestic cricket this season, was in smashing form in domestic odis & ipl as well. the fact that dhawan, despite consistent performances over 4 years in domestic cricket, u-19 & india still does not make it into the indian teams shows that there is something wrong with the selectors at a time when useless players like rohit sharma who was a flop in domestic cricket, flop in the odis recently get selected continuously. dhawans absence could even cost india in the sl odis as we will have only 2 good players of spin, at a time when we could easily have had 3 with dhawan being there. although sehwag & gambhir should do well & hopefully india should be able to win

since when did rohit sharma become a useless player ... have u seen the way that guy bats ... trememdous timer of the ball, nice high front elbow, doesnt try to hit the ball too hard (but can still hit the ball a long way if he wants too) ... and technically very equipped rohit sharma is a gem of a batsman ... he is our future.

for all those defending rohit sharma, rohit sharma is just a useless player. he struggles against spin. could not do anything in the tri-series & asia cup. even in aus, where it is said that he had a "great series", his avg was only 33.57, only avg at best. players having better avges than 33.57 have been dropped as well from the odi team, but rohit sharma was termed as the "next big thing" after a avg looking avg of 33.57. and he was struggling in ranji trophy as well. dhawan, on the other hand, was in smashing form in ranji trophy & avged 65+ in the emerging players tournament in aus & was the 2nd highest run-getter. and rohit sharmas odi avg is only 27.7 & he doesnt bowl as well, so he has only 1 thing to offer(batting). if dhawan is given a chance to play 23 odis(same odis as rohit sharma), he would have a avg over 35 & would have even scored a odi 100, something which rohit sharma has yet to score. and talking of timing the ball, dhawan is a better timer of the ball than rohit sharma & never hits the ball too hard. and dhawan is a more technically correct player & can also play spinners better than rohit sharma
