Now, when facing pacers, it?s a problem because the batsman, having already stuck his front foot out, was getting his body in a completely wrong position,? the source disclosed, adding: ?So, the tip given to Ganguly is: don?t put the front-foot out too much against pacers, so that the body weight is balanced. It will help get in a better position to play shots against pacers.? The course correction comes at a time when the former Indian captain is under the BCCI scanner alongside a few other supposedly under-performing senior players. While Ganguly is relishing taking on the spinners at the camp here, his susceptibility against the rising ball is no secret. And Shastri?s new front-foot tip may as well help the experienced batsman in taking on the pacers in Bangladesh and later in England, with a little more ease. The lecture took place shortly after the morning?s practice session at Eden?s centre wicket. After Ganguly played some lofted strokes down the ground and on the leg-side off the pacers, Shastri and team analyst S Ramky took the player aside. All three of them closely went through the morning?s footage and Shastri paused every now and then, demonstrating to an intently-looking Ganguly the footwork loophole.
