The Greatest idea ever conceived - revolutionising test cricket

with all the lame cricket we see these days, and with interest in test matches dwindling, the TIME HAS COME to have a TWO TIER system in international cricket. by this, i mean TWO SEPARATE divisions with promotion/relegation system. Tier 1 or PREMIER DIVISION would include the good teams: India, SA, Australia, england, sri lanka tier 2 or 2ND DIVISION or in hindi, "CHAPRASI division" will include the wannk teams: NZ, West Indies, gimbabwe, bangaladesh and dil dil pakistan. 5 evenly matched teams in each division. perhaps in time one could include ireland and afghanistan in the chaprasi division, but for now, let's keep it at 5+6 - major cricket playing nations. rankings based on the same calculations as now (except with extra points for away wins). the premier division team with the worst win loss record over the designated period of 3 years or whatever it is, will be relegated to the 2nd division and the 2nd div team with the best win loss record will move to the premier division. each team plays each other home and away just once in the designated period. this is a completely MERIT based system - teams that are good and can hold their own against the best will stay in premier and challenge for number 1. teams that go down will play with crappy teams and get their house in order while preserving the high standards of the game by not participating in premier. to make things more interesting there can be a financial incentive for reaching premier or staying in premier, prize money if u like. so u see, this is the PERFECT system to keep test cricket interesting. the good teams get to play each other more often, so audiences get to see quality cricket most of the time. the crappy teams stay away from the good teams.. so there are fewer mismatches like west indies vs england or pakistan vs everyone. the crappy teams, being evenly matched, would also have close games with each other, so that would make for exciting, albeit lower standard cricket. but the interest will still remain because the games will be ekshyting. to keep the morale of the crappy teams high and to give them a taste of what its liketo play a good team every now and then, we can keep the twenty twenty world cup an annual fixture. have twenty twenty tours every so often if there is space in the calendar. phase ODIs out completely. now after reading this, dont u think this is the greatest idea ever?

you can't have a multi tier system for a sport or a format being played by only 9 nations. you will end up with more tiers than nations. maybe if there were 160 nations like football it will make sense
