King
That's yet another failure but has anyone ever doubted Gilly's credentials??? He's in 10 times worse form than Tendulkar but ask the next bloke and he will say he is the best in the world even today. Today he played a nothing shot and dragged a ball from wide outside the off stump on to his stumps. Gilly was touted to be as big as Bradman about a year ago by the Aussies. For now I don't see that golden form he enjoyed for few years. I quite like watching Gilly and he is a great bat but am just pointing to the fact that players thought to be the best ever in the world when in great form will struggle at some point in time. I think Gilly has scored about 170 runs in 8 hits at an average of about 20. Ponting will go that way sometime in future too. I think the Indian supporters in general expect heaps, are a bit blinded when a player goes through tough times and give them hard time blaming them for not trying or not applying themselves. That includes me too and the moral of the story is every great is temperamental at some point in time. It's in the nature of a great artist to be that way. Link to comment

King Tendulkar
Re: Gilly's continued bad form So true. He has been rubbish for ages. Dont see the media after him. Link to comment
Sooda
Re: Gilly's continued bad form he should open any more IMHO. Hes still a fine keeper his batting form has been mixed of late really. . He was really bad during and just after the ashes Brad Haddin should play as a specialist bat and open with Jacques (even Hayden is cr@p in ODIs)- but the Aussies should have done this a while ago... Jacques Haddin Ponting Hussey Clarke Gilchrist Watson C White B lee M Johnson McGrath . Link to comment
King
Re: Gilly's continued bad form Yup Hayden is a gone case too, he hardly has shown any form at the top. Apart from the last couple of games he has struggled to score big more often than not. Also he is not that explosive batter anymore, struggles to score at even run a ball these days. Link to comment
