Will our two maharathis finally show up to save the Boxing Day Test?
saransh replied to Ultimate_Game's topic in Cricket Talk
No they won't. Vada pav will be back for single digits and Kohli at the most might score 25-30 odd. I do expect some of our younger batters to click though! -
We are destined to lose this test in the most painful way possible

Adelaide 2014 we were 315 a.o in 87 overs, no reason we can't be 340 odd in 90 overs tomorrow. I know pitch is different but that is where the big hitters come in @Ultimate_Game -

Again I don't think the target is outlandish and the only reason I believe so is because we have some players in our team who can really turn it on when it is required. Again I don't think it will be Rohit's decision alone to go for the draw or not, there is Gambhir plus I'm sure Kohli has a voice as well. I don't think we will win just going by how this match has gone up till now but I definitely think we will try -

Don't know about bad light but I think we will definitely be going for the win knowing this team -

If some of the bigger hitters in Jaiswal,Pant and NKR get going I don't see it being out of reach. We will have to shuffle our batting order accordingly. I would go with this tbh Rohit Jaiswal KL Pant NKR Kohli Jadeja Washi Rahul to play the Pujara role in gabba and the rest of the hitters to bat around him -

Plus I think if India draw we are out of the wtc finals. Stakes are huge here. India will go for the win no matter what the target is unless we are like 40-4 or something -

Pant will be a huge factor here. He definitely won't be going for a draw! -

Jaiswal can play a similar innings but his confidence must be shot by those 3 dropped catches today. -

After 30 overs pitch is pretty flat. Also Aussie bowlers will tire out after 30 overs so we will definitely have a shot at the target. But nerves will cause us to collapse -
This test seems eerily similar to gabba 2021 but getting totally oposite vibes from the way events are going. First innings jaiswal run out, pant stupidity, jaiswal 3 dropped catches then DSP dropping lyon and the last wicket adding 50+. The way things are going I won't be surprised if we are cruising tomorrow and then just collapse and then fightback only to lose by 10 runs. This game just has that vibes! @rollingstoned @Lord @Vijy @nitinbwj

2001 and 2020 are king of blockbusters. Both iconic series!
-
In an ideal world both the buffoons should be nowhere near the team. But this is what we have and both these guys should bat as far away from each other as possible to avoid a guaranteed collapse.
-
With Fatman insisting on opening we cannot afford both the losers in the top 4 else we will be 3 down in no time. Preferably go in with the below line-up Fatman Jaiswal KL Sundar (Decent technique, will be a better no.4 than lolhi) Pant Lolhi Jadeja NKR Deep Boom DSP Lolhi can fluke a few runs at no.6
-
Just get in Washi in place of Gill or Kohli or Rohit. When will batsmen beheld accountable in this country?

Ravichandran Ashwin retires from international cricket

Legend of the game, will thoroughly miss his services especially in home conditions. Go well man! -
No official announcement but it's all over the news. A lot of journalists are tweeting
-
The thing with Rana is he has looked shockingly poor with the bat on all occasions he batted. It's not about making runs, he should have a somewhat survivable defence. Umesh Yadav too was a good slogger but he is not someone you would think of developing into a semi reliable no.9 he was a pure slogger, maybe Rana is somewhat like him. Akashdeep can be quite useful if he is willing to work on his defence
-
He showed enough ability with the bat. He ain't Shardul Thakur level but there is something definitely there to work upon. No way DSP or Rana are better batsmen than him. Don't know how Rana got so hyped he is a way inferior bat than Akash
-
I just don't get it, how can someone be so out of control over themselves. I get it it isn't easy to continuously curb the natural way you play but this is now happening for 5 years, actually before too just that he had his eyesight intact then so he cover drove himself too scores before getting exposed, now his eyes are gone and he stands thoroughly exposed. Those who can't adapt go extinct and Kohli is going extinct
-
Ball is coming on to the bat and there is consistent bounce
-
Ideal team Jaiswal Kl Gill Jurel Pant NKR Sundar Ashwin Rana Boom Akashdeep Melbourne should have some assistance for spinners. Let's go with 5 proper bowlers and the all rounder in NKR. Sundar is a decent bat and is extremely capable for no. 7 No dead woods in lolhi, vada pav and DSP.
-
Time to walk the walk here for lolhi, this is a pitch which will suit him,no.4 is an extremely critical position. Time for him to stamp his authority
-
I feel Rohit the batsman has one last hurrah left in him this series.

He will surely bounce with that fat belly
