Will Ind-Pak match in final of CT17 break TV viewership records?

Any Indian v Pakistan match draws lot of viewers on different platforms, be it television or digital. With the growth and ease of access to digital platform, boards have been able to commercialise streaming of matches successfully.

Unofficial sources claim India v Pakistan 2011 world cup semi final match to have 1 billion viewers but those numbers could be inflated due to inclusion of viewership of highlights, news clips and other sources.

 

So far, Olympic opening ceremony 2008 is credited as most viewed sporting event with more than 1 billion unique viewers while 2010 FIFA world cup final is considered to be second with 530 million viewers.

 

This match on Sunday 18th June has already generated lot of buzz around the world and whatever be official and unofficial number, it is certain that it will draw record number of eyes to the TV sets.
