Changes required for long term solution in LOI setup for India

This is not for a loss but if we want to do well in WC 2019 we should look into our line up.This aging line up won't do

and a repeat of 2007 WC in WI will follow.We need to inject some fresh blood and groom them in 2 years.The process

should begin now else it'll be too late.Selection of Pant and Kuldeep are good signs but we need to do more.

Opening slot :- I'd stick to Rohit and Dhawan for now.Their record in ICC tournaments and in general is just brilliant.

Their style of play to build slowly so the middle and lower order can press the launchpad is said to be the "Way India plays".

My back up is KL Rahul and not Rahane when Rahul is fit (which is once in a blue moon).

Middle order :- Our biggest headache is the middle order. Kohli at no. 3 is the only stable position.Yuvi should not bat

at 4 and we have better players at that spot like Manish Paney. Personally I'd play Kohli at 3 and Dhoni at 4 followed

by Manish at 5. Kedar and Hardik at 6 and 7 and they should give us decent 10 overs at least with the ball.Pant is

my back up in the middle-order.

Seamers :- Bumrah, BK and Shami are my picks and Umesh in reserve.Though I'd like someone from the young fast bowling pool

to come in and take Umesh's spot coz other 3 are by far the 3 best options we have. Thampi,Siraj,Thakur,Sangwan,Kaul,Aaron and

Nathu should try their best to break into the squad.All of then have potential.I've not considered Aniket as I want him to be groomed for

tests.

Sandeep and Unadkat are not in my list coz I want them to gain pace like BK.If he can they can too...if that happens they are handy

options.

Spinners :- I'd not pick Ashwin or Jadeja anymore...both lack wicket taking ability in the middle overs.Both of them can bat so they are

picked but we need genuine wicket taking options.Kuldeep and Chahal are my picks.If there is a spot available then Krunal is my

reserve as spin-bowling allrounder. Pandya brothers can be blessing for us specially in the LOIs.

So this is my squad:-

First XI:-Rohit,Dhawan,Kohli,Dhoni,Manish,Kedar,Hardik,BK,Kuldeep,Shami/Chahal,Bumrah.

Reserves:-Rahul,Pant,Umesh,Shami/Chahal,Krunal.
