The only time he really broke the bank was when he signed Reyes in '04. Look at the best players on his team; Fabregas, Adebayor, Hleb, Rosicky, Toure, Van Persie, Gallas, Gilberto etc. - all were signed for under 10 million, and he has got them challenging for the title even after selling his best player Thierry Henry. Meanwhile, Spurs go out and sign Darren Bent for £16.5 mil, only to sit him down on the bench for most of the season. Spurs outspent Arsenal this summer but are still languishing in mid table mediocrity as they always have. Limited resources...what a crock. Manchester City and Everton spent roughly half of what Spurs did, and they are both miles ahead. How do you explain that ? Money doesn't have to do with anything, and Spurs have plenty of it - more than the majority of the Premiership bar Manutd, Liverpool and Chelsea anyway. They are just a crap team.
