incident happened in Ind, Pak or SL.....??? England physio robbed at knifepoint Cricinfo staff February 12, 2007 The England squad were given a frightening send-off from Australia after masked men broke into their team hotel and robbed Dean Conway, the physio, at knife-point in Sydney. The Sydney Morning Herald reported that the four balaclava-clad men entered the hotel at 4.15am on Monday morning, forced staff to the ground and demanded to know where the safes were. They then robbed Conway, who was taking a phonecall at the time, and took his mobile and money. "It was a pretty scary affair," said an England team spokesman. "Knives were produced and threats were made, but fortunately no one was badly hurt. It all happened quite quickly, from all accounts, and it took everyone by surprise. It's probably a good thing that most of them are heading home today." The five others who witnessed the attack were Andrew Strauss, analyst Mike Garaway, coaches Matthew Maynard and Kevin Shine plus security officer Reg Dickason. They escaped to another room.

Curfew will be called on. All roads blocked to arrest the attackers. Team whisked away to the airport in a bullet proof car escorted by loads of security men. Some minister saying everything is under control and Board of Cricket saying it will make sure security is in place so that next time this incident never happens! Anything more.. I think this is how it will follow in India/Pak or SL.

Re: what would have happened if this Yes, Eng would have cancelled the tour to India or Pakistan, which would have been a very good call. Where in Australia, you'd term these people as mere robbers and hooligans, in the subcontinent they could easily be linked to the mafia/terrorists etc etc. So I'd think cancelling it would have been a good call.

Audio ... Can you substantiate what you said above with facts figures and like .... If you dont you are looking at a lengthy ban comming your way.
hey... what did he (audio) say dude?? he dint make any offensive stmts... he was saying what cud have happnd.. and i think what he said is the reality... lets come outa the surreal world n face the reality... i honestly think he dint say anything tht deserves a ban....

for that to happen trollman needs to respond ... and going by his track record ... there is a fat chance of that happening ... but miracles do happen ... So you never know. :hmph:

Apocalypse , We are quite a lenient bunch of mods ... we dont like to go around policing with a stick in our hands ... On this issue I will quote Bumper who put it much more eloquently
Free speech is the biggest inspiration for this site & we are truly committed to it. We would like to respect our posters for the adults that they are and not come in their way too much as mods. We really believe moderation is more about staying away than stepping in. But u have been clearly pushing us to our limits. Posters like u, make free speech hard to practise.
I was not questioning your ability to mod the forum. I am just saying if you know the history, you can exercise a bit of strictness if you like. Sorry if you mind
