Good Man I feel for him , but not lose sleep over it and even he shouldnt. :wtg: The guy really wanted to play in the world cup. May be he should have been in the team the last time instead of Mongia. Feel sorry for him. That said, he himself has expressed how blessed they all are to get a chance to play for India for so many tests and ODIs. Link to comment
Captain of Bhangra
Re: Lakshman took it on the chin He deserved a chance last time, he was unlucky. He doesn't deserve a chance this time. Link to comment

kumble_rocks
Re: Lakshman took it on the chin Feel Sorry for him. But at the same time , I blame him for not re-tooling himself with strokes more useful for ODI. He had nearly 4 years from last WC and he still couldn't figure out how to play in the slog overs. Should have taken a leaf from Dravid's book. Link to comment

King
Re: Lakshman took it on the chin Unlucky but he will get over it. He still has a chance to make it to the ODI team if he puts in that extra bit and work on his running/fielding/batting. It's hard when you have such long breaks. Link to comment
Holysmoke
Re: Lakshman took it on the chin yep, but cant blame him, was hard on him after his knee operation, couldnt turn quickly while taking two's and three's Link to comment
King Tendulkar
Re: Lakshman took it on the chin Has he took it on the chin  He has pulled out of ranji odi tournamnet for hydrabad through SMS. Seems like someone has not taken it very well. Link to comment
Rohan495
Re: Lakshman took it on the chin very very sad Laxman, its simply not right a great player like him being ignored by the selectors. but then again lets see what happens whether he retires from one day cricket, if he does all i want too see is the old Laxman the Laxman who hit struck fluent big hundreds in test match cricket Link to comment
Predator_05
Re: Lakshman took it on the chin He didn't deserve anything back in '03 either. Mongia had won India two ODI series (vs WI away and vs ZIM at home). I have no sympathy for him whatsoever. Link to comment
Rohan495
Re: Lakshman took it on the chin i do have sympathy you r just one of those few who doesnt. He deserved a fair run in one days, he was never givin the full confidence by the selectors players throughout their career have got upto 3 to 4 series too prove themselves Laxman from the chances he got at max one series, hes always had a descent odi record seeing his inconsistency in the line up, and as far as mongia being picked that was not a great move Zimbabwe and WI were relatively weak teams back then. Its sad to see him in such a state, he must be not having a great time, a great player like him not getting a chance to show his class in the world cup shows you how harsh the selectiors of a cricketing nation such as India has its flaws.
