Don’t sledge Tendulkar, advises Warne Thursday, 07 February , 2008, 19:30 Last Updated: Thursday, 07 February , 2008, 19:36 London: Spin wizard Shane Warne feels sledging is a legitimate weapon in cricket but said it should not be used to wind up someone like Sachin Tendulkar, who a bowler should rather befriend. For Koksumayu : Fantasy Cricket: Play and win Rs 1,50,000 http://sify.com/sports/fullstory.php?id=14601512 "...I do believe that sledging is a legitimate weapon as long as it does not become abusive. Foul language or an aggressive tone are signs of a frustrated player," Warne said. "I found it an extremely effective tactic against an insecure batsman who could be intimidated. South Africa's Darryl Cullinan springs to mind as a good player who was not confident against Australia, particularly leg spin.’’ "On the other hand, with Sachin Tendulkar and Brian Lara, it was better to be friends and make them smile rather than wind them up," he wrote in his column for The Times. :D

‘Better to be friends with Lara, Sachin’: Warne Aussie spin legend Shane Warne says sledging was an effective tactic to intimidate any batsman barring the two LONDON: It was “better to be friends†with Sachin Tendulkar than sledge him, says former leg-spinner Shane Warne of his contest with the Indian batting maestro, even though the Australian believed that sledging without abusing opponents is fine. “I found it an extremely effective tactic against an insecure batsman who could be intimidated. South Africa’s Darryl Cullinan springs to mind as a good player who was not confident against Australia, particularly leg spin,†Warne wrote in his column in The Times. “On the other hand, with Sachin Tendulkar and Brian Lara, it was better to be friends and make them smile rather than wind them up,†he said. Tendulkar and Warne are known to be friends off the field. Even after being thrashed mercilessly by Tendulkar on Australia’s tour of India in late 1990s and famously in a one-day tournament in Sharjah besides elsewhere, Warne has remained friends with him. Warne also disclosed that he called Tendulkar up after he scored a century in the fourth and final Test of the series in Adelaide. “Tendulkar batted brilliantly for his hundred in Adelaide. I am pleased that he marked his last Test in Australia that way,†he said. “I spoke to him before the game and we reminisced about going to see Sir Donald Bradman together many years ago. Sachin has been a great ambassador and he deserved to leave on a strong personal note.†http://publication.samachar.com/pub_article.php?id=1249456&navname=Sports%20&moreurl=http://publication.samachar.com/dnaindia/sports/dnaindia.php&homeurl=http://sports.samachar.com

I remember Michael Kasprowicz sledging and had some word with Sachin during the start of the innings at Sharjah and we all know what happened next. Olonga showed some of his dancing tricks when he dismissed Boss cheaply and we all know what happened in the next ODI. Recently Taits comments of blowing the Indian Middle order of whom sachin was a also a part and we all know what happened next. So the world beware ..." BOSS IS BATTING "
