arkay
There was a time when MRF would be the most prominent sponsor of cricket. They were the pioneers in establishing MRF pace academy for young upcoming pacers. I would have thought, they would have bid for an IPL team. But they dont seem to actively be involved with the game except of getting endorsement from sachin waugh, and Lara or for that matter MRP bats. Does anyone know if they are active in the game? Ram
I dont remember MRF giving out ads on TV, based on cricket. The most that they have done is sponsor of bats of Sachin, Lara and Sachin, as far as visible advertising goes. Link to comment
Tapioca
The used to sponsor the drinking carts (were the pioneers of this concept ?) which used to be in a shape of a small space shuttle. The used to use cricketers in their ads but I can't quite remember who they were. Once cricket became a *very* big buck business, they withdrew. Link to comment
arkay
During the 90's, MRF were very big on cricket. They were the ones who spent obscene money to sachin, waugh and lara. They also sponsored MRP cup - a mini-world cup. Link to comment

MRF is now into cricket gear selling and just like the other makes people use it. MRF right now is a very popular brand in cricket. BDM manufacture MRF bats but it's sold with MRF label.
