• Dhoni (retired. may be a message is already sent out to him)
• Rohit (may not have takers for him if he fails in WC looking at his dismal performances in ICC events. WC = last chance to impress)
• Dhawan (may be on a relative decline) 
• Rayudu (already seen as a stop gap solution)
• DK (being phased out of LOIs) 
• Jadeja (could have been phased out earlier) 
• Ashwin (if the name accidently pops up somewhere. probably, already seen as phased out) 
• Bhuvi (could lose pace) 
• Umesh (has already moved to backup position) 

 

Tests

• Vijay, Dhawan, Rohit (difficult to see them getting more chances) 
• Rahane (unless does not pick up his game) 
• Bhuvi (mostly being played in particular conditions) 
• Ishant (may hit the end of the road in 2020)
• Umesh 
• Ashwin and/or Jadeja (if overseas performances dip, and if Kuldeep picks up his game) 
• Saha (great WK but age not on his side) 

 

 

Listed the challenges/situations the above face. Which ones can practically make it past 2020 to last till 2022 (may be Ashwin or Jadeja if they perform well overseas)?
