udaydewan
I have never understood why Ganguly bats at no.5 and VVS Laxman at no.6 in test matches. Though Ganguly is a good test player we all know about the epic batting by VVS laxman at Kolkata when he made 281 and at Adelaide when he scored 148. Clearly VVS Laxman has much more potential to win matches for India with his big innings. Link to comment
mhr123
VVS should be Batting at No. 3 . Link to comment
Zakhmi
Jo chalgaya wahi sikandar...Once a player gets a tag about a spot, then he is made stick to it only. Link to comment
udaydewan
Right/left combination is important but Laxman is wasted if he bats at no.6. If he bats at no.1 or no.5 he can put 150+ scores for India much more freqently. Moreover Ganguly is a better slogger than Laxman so Ganguly can score better when batting with tailenders. Kartikey
Laxman is very very special, he should be at No. 5. Link to comment
Indus_Army
The reason that Saurav still sticks to #5 might be due to past success rather than current form...just like Dravid's #3 spot. Laxman at #5 and Saurav at #6 would be a good move. VVS can score freely, while SG can hit out towards the end. Besides, SG does a better job at shepherding the tail. Link to comment
