Today science tells us that even plants can feel pain. But the cry of the plant cannot be heard by the human being. This is due to the inability of the human ear to hear sounds that are not in the audible range i.e. 20 Hertz to 20,000 Hertz. Anything below and above this range cannot be heard by a human being. A dog can hear up to 40,000 Hertz. Thus there are silent dog whistles that have a frequency of more than 20,000 Hertz and less than 40,000 Hertz. These whistles are only heard by dogs and not by human beings. The dog recognizes the masters whistle and comes to the master. There was research done by a farmer in U.S.A. who invented an instrument which converted the cry of the plant so that it could be heard by human beings. He was able to realize immediately when the plant itself cried for water. Latest researches show that the plants can even feel happy and sad. It can also cry. Once a vegetarian argued his case by saying that plants only have two or three senses while the animals have five senses. Therefore killing a plant is a lesser crime than killing an animal. Suppose your brother is born deaf and dumb and has two senses less as compared to other human beings. He becomes mature and someone murders him. Would you ask the judge to give the murderer a lesser punishment because your brother has two senses less? In fact you would say that he has killed an innocent person, and the judge should give the murderer a greater punishment.

Thats completely true. I am a meat eater, but there's now way I would have killed that animal. Its like saying, yeah, I love having a leather wallet and leather jacket, but I'm not gonna go kill an animal for the leather.

There is a specialist to slaughter the animal and the man who is presenting this sacrifice has to be present at that time. This kind of thing is regularly done during Durga Puja and in the temples of Goddess Kali. I just couldn't believe my eyes when I read that Dhoni was called barbaric because he offered sacrifice! As for eating the meat after offering the sacrice to God/Goddess--well that is called "prasad" and it is distributed to all the near and dear ones!! PS: Since this topic is hardly cricket related, I'm transfering it on chit-chat forum!!

My younger Brother...when he was a kid saw a chicken being killed by the shop-keeper..and he puked there.. He has never been to any meat shop since then...and he eats the most whenever we cook chicken a home..:haha:

I'd rather judge people by what they do in real life, and not what they order from a hotel menu. It also happens to be a fact. You will also stop being vegetarian if you had to plough field, till the land from dawn to dusk and cultivate rice/wheat, daal, vegetable to make one square meal. I have to wonder if people who are criticizing non-vegetarians for animals being killed have actually done so much as walk in an agriculture field, much less till the land, water it and harvest when the time comes around.

Brother, What are you saying? That I do not know what hard work is? I pulled an 95 hour week last week....that hard enough for you? I come from farming stock too...so don't lecture me about ploughing the land. I know what it involves. And I will tell you this straight out. I work to put food on the table for my loved ones. And if there were no other choice than to kill an animal to do it...I would. But if you gave me a choice...whether to grow vegetables or kill personally...I would grow vegetables. Hard work is preferable to a hard soul.
