Gollum Posted September 27, 2019 Posted September 27, 2019 (edited) LINK What a *ing idiot !!!! As if India is some sporting superpower that can pick and choose. And he is spreading fake news about insufficient competition. So many Olympic medalists take part in these games, even in CWG Delhi which faced boycott calls in foreign press. Some top athletes might choose to skip but still the competition is high level, in some events much better than Asian Games. Australia, England, Canada, Scotland, NZ, RSA, Nigeria, Kenya, Jamaica, Singapore, Ireland, Malaysia....so many of these countries are greater sporting nations yet don't make these boastful claims like our idiots. Even if Australia and England choose to rest some of their high profile stars, enough quality athletes representing them, their development squads and juniors can give the best in most countries a run for their money. Jamaica's 4th best sprinter is still head and shoulders above the best Asia has to offer. Here I am exaggerating because many Olympic gold medalists take part in these games, many !!!! What is this new chudaap by IOA, some BJP idiots also made comments about CWG being a colonial legacy....what type of nonsense is this? Who are they to deny our athletes the chance to hone their skills in a high pressure environment? Moreover not many get success in Olympics or World Championships....Asian Games and CWG are an opportunity for many of our athletes to get medals, recognition, cash prizes etc. Don't they deserve that much after dedicating their lives to the sport. Who in India follows World Championships with the same interest as CWG? Olympics is the ultimate, Asian Games is next in priority but one can't write an essay without learning the alphabets. There is a reason why the GOAT sporting nation USA encourages its athletes to gain more international exposure, why else would such a mighty power take part in Pan-Am Games? Batra is a crook (listed all his crimes in an old thread here), tried his best to destroy our hockey and now other sports....b@stards like him find a way to remain in power irrespective of party in Centre. Let us see how serious Modi is about Indian sports, sack Batra, not just a bully whilst dealing with our boys/girls but an ISI certified mahachewt. PS: What is it about us protesting the decision to not have shooting in 2022 Birmingham? It is up to the host to decide the sporting events based on infrastructure and interest level. India did similar stuff in 2010, also to boost our chances...Indonesia (last Asian Games host) had 2 dozen events in some local martial arts form which they swept. There will be changes in 2026 games and shooting will be back, final medal table doesn't matter. It is all about giving exposure to our athletes and to make them mentally strong, also to help their livelihoods. Edited September 27, 2019 by Gollum
