Vk1 Posted December 2, 2020 Posted December 2, 2020 Just wonder if our TM, commentators, past cricketers and general public at large are aware with these changes.. 1. Big change in Batting averages.. in the 90s, if you had a batting avg of 42+ the you are a top player.. 38 - 40 was the avg for good players. Now it is 50+ for very good players and 45+ for the next rung. 2. Ability to play reverse sweep, switch hits, scoops, sweeping fast bowlers and the new shot of reverse sweeping balls wide of offstump of fast bowlers. 3. Ability to hit sixes of any length.. England team is very well equipped in this regard. Our guys barring Rohit / Pandya are one dimensional. Dhawan can barely hit sixes, nothing on off side. Kohli too hasnt improved his range. Iyer can only hit against off spinners? Jadeja midwicket hoics. Gill is too young and a touch player. Rahul can do that but he thinks strike rate is irrelevant in T20s. 4. Consistent explosive starts and continuing the momentum by having a positive mindset. Basically all this is what England does and even Aussies is on that path.. When we won the U19 wc in 2018, we guys here were thinking that Cricket will be dominated by India.. A brilliant point that Warne had raised during this series was to consider 30-40 as the final 10 overs due to field restrictions and aim accordingly in the last 10. So teams should score atleast 75-80 runs during this period - Smith did that brilliantly. Does our TM have the brains to think about these
