One of the seniors needs to be dropped. We can't wait for all of them to retire in a short space of time as it will end up the team in a mess. Out of Dravid, Laxman,Ganguly and Tendulkar I would say drop Dravid. I know it is a very difficult decision but one has to see the welfare of Indian Cricket. Yuvraj or Kaif can replace Dravid.

From your above words it seems you were one of those people who went to the streets to oppose the dropping of Dravid and Ganguly from CB Series. Well the result is in front of you. It seems that some players and their fans think that the Indian Cricket Team is like their family business in which once a player steps in he can never be dropped. Such people shoulld be ashamed for thinking like this.

dravid has to be dropped. we need to phase out the oldies from tests. tendulkar & laxman still have about 3 more years of cricket in them. tendulkar will be 35 in a few days & laxman is only 33. both will be expected to play till 36-37. ganguly is the oldest out of the 4 and should also retire by the end of this year. and we need to find dravid & gangulys test replacements soon. also, those ppl who want dravid to stay havent given a genuine reason to not drop dravid except that dravid has over 10000+ test runs. if past records means everything, then y not bring back gavaskar with 10122 runs & kapil dev with 434 wickets back into the test team and kaif should be the 1 replacing dravid and not the LOB(limited-overs bully) yuvraj. kaif is a similar player to dravid & should also be the captain of the indian test team. badrinath should be included in the test suqad instead of yuvraj as badrinath should be the 1 getting a chance if any of the regular batsman is unfit

In this whole thread I have not seen even one person talk about 'past records'. Instead they have proved that Dravid according to current record is much better than anyone who could replace. Your post reeks of prejudice towards the 'age' of a player and the only reason you want certain players out is because of their age. I wrote this in a previous thread about Sachin but its equally apt for Dravid too. "The thing with prejudice is people who have them arent aware there is anything wrong with the way they think. Prejudice can work both ways. If a person is a big fan of a player and wants him in the team despite his poor performances for a long time, we can tell he is prejudiced. What is not so easy to tell, however, is when it goes the other way. When a player, despite being in top form and one of the most valuable current players in the team, is expected to leave only becayse a) he is older than the other players and, b) because there is a chance he will go downhill and hence he cannot retire on a 'high', despite the fact that in that low period he still might win a few games for our country. The second instance is as much an example of prejudice as the first where we fail to see the player for just what he is and instead depend on the mental imagery we have of him. Also the fact that we have seen lot of our legends bow out after extending their careers a bit too long makes us certain that this might be the case with Sachin too which is all pure conjecture. He might surpass all he has achieved."
