nevada Posted August 17, 2021 Posted August 17, 2021 Found this stunning stat on Cricbuzz: "This is the first of Joe Root's 22 centuries which ended up in an England defeat (16 wins & five draws). The previous longest such sequence for a player was Gary Sobers whose first 20 centuries ended in a WI win, draw or tie." What a champ! Exhibit "A" for importance of worth of runs trumping volume of runs. He has been ploughing a lonely furrow in a mediocre team for a long time now, yet he keeps on delivering regularly.
