THX_1138 Posted May 4, 2008 Posted May 4, 2008 Guiness Draft... but i like indian ales too. however nothing beats the taste of home brew... my ex's dad had a huge vat at home in which he would brew ever spring, and once we visited her younger sister's bf's dad's winyard in east california... i was not 21 then, none of us were, but we were permitted to "savor the taste"... needless to say i did not always spit it out...

CC1981 Posted May 5, 2008 Posted May 5, 2008 :-Dits overrated... and the most prominent side effect is lethargy, but thats pretty much it. Don't think such blanket statements apply for pot, really. I am an 'occasional-regular' smoker (ie, once/twice a week i'd smoke a joint or two but not a heavy or daily smoker) and vancouver has a *HUGE* pot-smoking culture (ie, seriously atleast 50%-if not more- of the people in 50-or-younger-crowd is a smoker/smoked before, etc). I find that marijuana is a lot more circumstantial drug- depends on who you are with, whats going on in your life,etc- it tends to magnify emotional response in people (which is one reason why some people get paranoid on pot) but it seriously differs from people to people. There are people i wont smoke with- there are people i look forward to smoke with. But in general, i find pot has one of the most diverse psychological effect on people- some go paranoid, most go relatively lethargic (not a problem for me,since i am usually pretty active physically, if anything) and long time users seriously know how to have a good time on it. And it is seriously popular amongst people with long term pains ( ie, say a bad knee/hip,etc) as marijuana is, hands down, the best painkiller there is outside of opiates. As for drinks- i tend to stick to beer, wine and hard liquor. Not too experimental with other kinds and i certainly don't like the some booze (ie, stuff like Jagermeister or spiced rum). in general, mostly a beer drinker- of which i prefer Molson Canadian, Coors and a local brewery called Hermans who make really smooth and dark beer ( Rajeev, if you like a good dark beer thats like 5x better than the best guiness you've had, look for the 'Hermannator' that comes out to Liquor stores around Christmas or pre-order from them). After beer, i mostly drink wine- usually red because i enjoy the taste of red wine the most...usually Merlot, Cabernet-Sauvignon/Cabernet-Merlot etc. types, though a few Shiraz i like too. Whites i am not a huge fan of, though Reislings are the noted exceptions. I like sweet red wine like Ice wine or Port but only of good quality. Not a big fan of sparkling wine- i just dont like the 'fizz' to my wines, thank you- would much rather savour the aroma and the flavour which i think the fizz cuts into. PS: The wine maestro of this board is Salil- immensely helpful with tips and suggestions. PPS: Salil, if you get a chance, try Obikwa Cabernet-Sauvignon- very very smooth wine and one of the finer after-tastes i find- though it might be 'too floozy' by your towering standards.:-D
Desi Cartman Posted May 5, 2008 Posted May 5, 2008 Beer - MOSTLY  (carlton Draught , Kingfisher basically most beers are okay !) Wine - Occasionally Tequilla --- straight if I wanna get REALLY drunk :pepsi: Have had joints in younger days :P ... its pretty good but I feel so hungry after that
