The Bellerive Oval’s pitch has historically been excellent for batting. Teams batting first have amassed more than 150 runs in 32 of the 39 T20 matches played at this location. In Hobart, teams that bat first and second have both had success.

When comparing pace and spin, the spinners have had far more success at Bellerive Oval. At the venue, D’Arcy Short claimed a five-wicket haul, and leg-break bowler Jonathan Cook claimed four wickets in Hobart last year against the Sydney Thunder.

The pitch at the Sydney Cricket Ground is a sports surface with plenty of assistance for both spinners and hitters. Once they are comfortable, the batters can play their shots with ease. The pacers frequently receive a substantial amount of support from the surface. Anyone who wins the toss must look to chase even though it hasn’t been a big deal in the T20s played here in the past. The ICC Ccmmittee has also decided to conduct ODI and T20I matches on hybrid pitches. Currently, the hybrid pitches are only used for Women's T20I matches, but that is set to change from October 1. 

Hybrid pitches are natural grass embedded in a matrix of synthetic fibers (which can be done in several ways). It has already been used in prominent football leagues along with The Hundred competition played in England.

As compared to traditional wickets, the hybrid pitch requires less time to prepare for a game which can play a crucial role in the upcoming T20 World Cup where the matches will be played with little time gap between matches at the same venue.
