bulbul Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 dude' date=' yes I do hate the 'attitude' of [b']most trundlers coz they come across as lethargic and very passive. Hence I respect PK coz he performs and behaves like he belongs to the international level even though he is a trundler. Same is the case with Irfan. The k'tka brigade has an attitude of a city beggar begging the opposition batsmen to gift their wicket away. I do understand that not everyone will have express pace, but at least compensate for that lack of pace with an attitude and variations, etc. what attitude...are you telling Pathan is a successful bowler :giggle: even PK in non swinging condition is same as Vinay...
Sachin=GOD Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 Two wrongs do not make a right. I would pick Vinay to be the better between the three based on what was on display during the ODI's and I do not care much for either Mithun nor Pathan though based on the last couple of years of efforts on the domestic circuit and staying injury free Mithun was picked more as a understudy than as a realistic option to play the Australian Tests. Cannot really lose your sleep over that and take the selectors to task for that. Irfan has bowled well in domestic cricket and has also performed well for India in the past while the other guys are clearly not international standard so I would give him more chances. He was making a comeback after 3 years so it was not a bad performance today. We all know that Zaheer is very much injury prone so if he gets injured then Mithun will get a chance.
pensionplan Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 The k'tka brigade has an attitude of a city beggarAnd where are you from LALA land?
phaedrus Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 Pathan and Vinay are same age...Vinay bowls faster than Pathan if Vinay is Trundler...Pathan is Junior trundler Pathan can bat
ViruRulez Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 he was low on confidence and not applying his brain properly today .. that is one of his weakness in the past too but to be honest, he has improved somewhat from the time he was dropped .. need to check a few more games before making judgment .. but he has no place in the current team by any chances .. at best he should be a backup medium pacer ... he is better than Mithun and perhaps Vinay too but not better than PK (PK uses his mind a lot better and swings both ways which helps) .. so at best he is backup bowler and can replace the main bowlers only for a game or two in case somebody is injured
saneindian Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 what attitude...are you telling Pathan is a successful bowler :giggle: even PK in non swinging condition is same as Vinay... Ask a young Indian seamer if he would like to have 150 ODI wickets in 100 odd ODIs like Pathan has, you will have your answer.
bulbul Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 Pathan can bat we saw today.. Vinay this season 3 mtaches 139 runs @ 57 Pathan 4 matches 81 runs @ 16 i knoiw ststs wont tell complete story still you dont select them based on their batting...we go with 7 batsmen + 4 bowlers
master22 Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 Pathan can bat Did u see his batting today?playing out a maiden in 49th over! he was just wildly sloging. His batting ability has come down a lot. If he can get his batting right he can be a decent option for us in LOI.

His Test record is horrendous outside of bowling to Zim and Ban. Plus if one were to look at the domestic performance over the last 3 seasons he never stayed fit for most part and was in and out of the line up. Without proper confidence levels on how fit he is and if he can hold up to the rigors of Test match bowling selectors were right in ignoring him for the Test squad to Australia. Let him continue to bowl well for Baroda for the rest of the season and prove that he is really really fit and bowling well and things will take of themselves when there are opportunties in the next season.

Trundler27 Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 And where are you from LALA land? take it easy chuck.... i don't mean to demean karnataka nor do i believe in regionalism and all that nonsense..... they have produced great cricketers for us.... i just said that about the 3 pacers that they are currently supplying to the national team.

Also read your own post to which I replied. i clearly understood your post...you also have to read my posts clearly..i am replying to some one who is telling so Authoritively that Pathan is better than Vinay at present..withput giving any dat.. thats why i wrote that...now you brought a data like 150 wkts out of 100 matches...i ahve given you Agarakars name to just compare them... Once up on a time Agarkar is leading bowler in world :winky: now he is nowhere...similerly Pathan also good some time back but now others over took him..he has to put more effort.. Indian Team is not con party...waiting for Prodigal son to Return :--D

And for the record, I'm not advocating that pathan should be picked in our starting 11 right away.... I'm just saying that he is a better like-for-like backup for PK. At this time, no indian seamer is world class except for Zaheer Khan... all the rest are just trying to establish themselves.

bulbul Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 2/42 on his return. Don't start crying now. in a same match where worlds worst bowler took 2/32 :hysterical:

mishra Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 Was about to ask how did he bowl today on the match thread.. Any improvement in his bowling and speed?
