The next 6 to 7 weeks (my NZ/SL squads)

• Virat, Rohit, KL, Shami, Ashwin should all play only Ranji FC cricket until the end of the group stage (24th Jan) not be in contention for any LOIs (in the case of Ashwin, for good)

 

• Pant, GIll, Iyer, Siraj, Axar, Kuldeep Yadav, Sundar - players who will be in the Aus test squad should be phased between the two LOI series'. This being a ODI WC year, T20Is are the least important format for now. When not playing for India there will be opportunity for them to appear for state for at least one match.

 

• From the end of Jan to the 8th of Feb the entire test squad should be in a camp of some kind preparing for the Aus series- thats how important it is- and therefore no test players will play in NZ T20Is (from the 27th)

 

With this in mind my squads, give or take a few players...

 

SL T20Is: Shaw, Kishan, Samson, SKY, Hardik, Hooda, Tewatia, Shabaz, Umran, Arshdeep, Bishnoi    D Chahar, R Chahar, Patidar, Gaekwad

NZ ODIs: Gill, Kishan, SKY, Pant, Hardik, Hooda, Tewatia, Axar, D Chahar, Kuldeep Sen, Bishnoi           Umran, Shabaz, Shaw, Samson

NZ T20Is: Shaw, Kishan, Samson, SKY, Hardik, Hooda, Tewatia, Shabaz, Umran, Arshdeep, Bishnoi            D Chahar, R Chahar, Patidar, Gaekwad

 

Went for Bishnoi and Chahar due to lack of wrist spin options
