I'm just glad we're moving on from Kohli in T20s. He used to be a good T20 batsman in mid 2010s (till 2016) but the game has moved on. Yes, the score was 34/3 in the final but 50 off 48 balls is still way too slow. Maybe 50 off around 38-40 balls at max but anything more is detrimental to the team getting a decent score. It was thanks to Axar and Dube that we reached 170 else we would've scored around 150 the way Kohli was batting. He should've gone harder a bit earlier given Pandya was still waiting to bat and he only got 2 deliveries. That's criminal, and Kohli did the same thing he does at RCB, i.e. play most of the deliveries and not let others face enough deliveries.

 

SA also lost early wkts - they were 12/2. But that didn't stop remaining batsmen like Stubbs, DeKock and Klassesn from batting aggressively. In fact SA had more reasons to be even more cautious as they had a longer tail than us. But they still went for it and played the way T20 is played. It was them choking that they couldn't even score 30 off 30 (and 26 off 24) with 6 wkts in hand but they were on course to win thanks to a pretty average RCB type innings from Kohli.

If DeKock had scored 50 off 48 deliveries, the game would've been over for SA much earlier. Kohli should've batted at the SR of 125 as well throughout instead of around 100.

Not sure about every WC but if we give the same leeway to likes of Abhishek, Rinku etc. we'll definitely win much more than 0/9 which Kohli managed till Bumrah managed to win one for us

Kohli chased 28 off 8 in a group match against likes of Rauf and Nawaz, whereas SA batsmen had to go up against Bumrah. Plus in the knockout in the same tourney, Kohli was back to scoring meaningless runs where on that Adelaide patta he got a stat-padding 50.

This WT20 we won not because of Kohli but inspite of Kohli. And he has to thank Bumrah, Pandya and Arshdeep for it. They were the real stars

Chandragupta Coolie is a good player. Not the best in odi. Too much of a choker in odi. But great in t20

 

Not good enough in tests either unless he helps us win the wtc. Too late for the washed up has been now.

Don't compare one gen to other gen.. not only bumrah.. hardik, axar, kohli, sky, dube, arshadeep also contributed in finals
