Ahmedabad 2030 CWG/2036 Olympics

Ahmedabad will host the 2030 CWG which might be the preview for 2036 Olympics.

I dont think the same city should be used for both events.. will create a lot of backlash and pro Gujarat favouritism accusations. Why cant similar infrastructural be built in other states

Mumbai should hold it imo.

 

The first Olympics in every country is in a major city - London, Paris, Los Angeles, Moscow, Tokyo, Seoul, Sydney, Beijing

2026 Commonwealth Games starting tomorrow in Glasgow

 

No media coverage, no discussions, number of sports drastically cut- no badminton, hockey, shooting, wrestling- all key sports for India. Id expect nothing more than a finish at 5th/6th place if we are lucky

only 4 medals so far- all in Weightlifting.. i dont think India will finish in the top 10 of the table at this rate.

 

I feel if Ahmedabad 2030 wasn't happening, India would have not bothered to send athletes to this event

lol no. india is no 4 now. with wrestling/badminton would prolly be no 2.

 

even in ahmedabad 2030 will be no 2 at least due to inclusion of archery/kabaddi etc. india ws no 2 in cwg 2010 as well.

or how about we make sure we get more gold medals in the sports we actually participate in quite well and increase investment an coaching to the standards of first world nations?

 

1. Wrestling

2 Boxing

3. Weightligting

4. TT

5. Badminton

6. Shooting/Archery

7. Hockey

8. Cricket

 

Plus potential sports that can deliver some medals with high investment

 

9. Athletics

10. Gymnastics

 

We cant compete with Aussies/Americans in Swimming, Americans/Jamaicans/Kenyans in Track and Cycling with GB and Europe nations so instead of spreading the money thinly to cover everything lets get 10-15 gold medals in the our strong sports ans then see what else we can do after that
