Guest Hiten. Posted July 12, 2008 Posted July 12, 2008 OK so the iphone has 3 different ways to access the internet. 1. wifi. basically the same that you use for your laptop.. you're home wifi. Your iphone can connect to it. This can be done when you're home or at a store or something. You obv cant get wifi while driving... 2. 3G. 3G is a connection type, which is "broadband for phones. " This comes wirelessly.. so its like broadband internet on your phone.. wherever you are. 3. EDGE. Edge is another connection type, and it is not as fast as 3g. Not all places have 3g, as it is a new technology and is not installed everywhere. The iphone can connect to edge wherever 3g isnt there. the 6gb/month is the limit on downloading stuff to your phone from 3g and EDGE. aah ! Thanks holy baba. I was always under impression that you could change your handset but not the plan while being under the contract. What is 6 GB/mo = 30$ charge for ? They charge you for internet browsing on your phone ? I thought we could access our wireless internet via Iphone. Sorry its a n00bie question :nervous: You are never stuck, if you renew 3 more years ( for eg., ure 6 mths passed ur 3 year and u have 2.5 years left ) why wouldn't they want to retain you, you can upgrade plans As for hardware upgrade, when was the last time you got a discounted phone from Fido? usually an hardware upgrade ( ie., special pricing such as iphone ) is after 2 years in service All you need to know is call them and tell them I want this, what can you do for me. Luckily, Fido is not as backed up as rogers, rogers system along with iphone's server just couldn't handle the load today About the 30 charge, its the data plan. You surf on your cellphones, WM's and Blackberries.through data plans and rogers was originally charging $100 for this but thanx to online petition and pressure form apple, this $30/6b monthly ( a whole lotta browsing and email and youtube ) is on till aug 31st From what I read today =, its even better than At & T - they have a 5GB cap/mth ( although advertised as unlimited ) I tell ya, its the monthly cost but what a great phone

I was with Fido for 1.5 years prior to that but I was not under any contract. As you can see, I have fulfilled (almost) 7 months with Fido under that 3 year contract. My question to you is, am I eligible for the 'hardware upgrade' ?

You'll also receive a $50 credit on your first or second invoice if you subscribe to a monthly plan over $30. "cube runner" brilliant, addictive game!

Only videos that are specially converted for the iphone format can be seen on youtube. The reason is that the processor inside the iphone cannot render all formats properly - u need a processor with an x86 base for that.
