Mr. Wicket
The new sponsors of the (ugh) Pura Cup - Weet-bix - are now deciding they don't want their product name tied in with the trophy (THANK GOD), and are bringing back the classic Sheffield Shield name. At least there are some who'll tip a hat towards tradition. Yay. Link to comment
The Outsider
Weet-Bix trophy doesn't sound very marketable anyways.:-D Link to comment
King
WeetBix is an awesome break fast. I guess it must be the best selling one too. Sanitarium Weet Bix in NZ comes with "All Blacks" cards and is quite a hit with the kids. It's bland but an ideal break fast. If you can take Pura cup, you can take Weet Bix bup Link to comment
THX_1138
well i really cannot come up with a more esoteric name for the kitply cup... but yeah i do not like the sound of "the dlf champions trophy"... Link to comment
Online
^^^ the adjective esoteric is completely out of place there. Link to comment
THX_1138
^^^ the adjective esoteric is completely out of place there. esoteric: understood by few and in reference to a specific subject content. in the above i intended to express the view that some of the traditional cricket cups are named such that only loyalists will recognize their meaning and deduce their significance from that name... for example, the title ashes... its significance and meaning is automatically understood by the few who are cricket loyalists. i guess not the best adjective to use since over a billion people follow cricket, but you get my drift.
