PCB chief speaks of urdu bonding

Recommended Posts

What the fack is wrong with these twats, now they talk of using urdu for bonding and tring to promote it  ------------------------------------------------- KINGSTON (Jamaica), March 13: Nasim Ashraf, president of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), has come up with a perfect explanation for the insistence that the team interacts between self, and particularly with media, in the national language Urdu, in the present World Cup. "We have a feeling that it would help the bonding between the team members. Urdu is our national language, our distinct identity, a beautiful language, and there is no reason why we should be shy in promoting it," said easy-going Ashraf. There was much derision within the assembled press when media manager DJ Mir declared on Sunday that all interactions by the Pakistani players, including captain Inzamam-ul Haq, would be in Urdu in this World Cup.

Re: PCB chief speaks of urdu bonding These guys are so thick. How exactly does it promote pak tourism by speaking in Urdu, as this means the potential tourists would not understand a word you are saying. In any case dont see a rush of tourists to pak land no matter what language they speak in :hic: ------------------------------------------------------------ Pervez Mir, a former Pakistan international and the team's press liaison officer during the World Cup, confirmed that players would only speak in Urdu, an attempt to also promote tourism in Pakistan. "This decision was taken by the Pakistan Cricket Board because it is our national language and because 2007 is our National Tourist Year so we are promoting Pakistan as well," Mir was quoted as saying by Reuters. "This is the perfect platform to promote and expose our national language, so there's nothing more to it."

Re: PCB chief speaks of urdu bonding

funny all this song and dance because they lack fluency ... it isnt a crime not to know english. Why they feel the need to defend it and explain it so vigorously is interesting.
It's not the fact that they don't speak English. It's the way they are going about it that people have a problem with. Banning English from press conferences is f*cking stupid and comes across as haughty and arrogant.

Re: PCB chief speaks of urdu bonding Its all the proud of urdu..promote pakistan....promte urdu blah blah blah. If they just said our english is not that good so will speak in urdu so as to be understood correctly then fine, its all the cr#p that comes with it which are actually the real reasons for them only speaking urdu.
