King Tendulkar
The way he leads his team with steely determination and imagination. He also leads them with his composed, determined batting. To me he is best skipper in world cricket at the moment. Link to comment
bharat297
Yep agreed ... Given the team he has to work with .. Id rate him as no.1 1. Jayawardene Ponting, Dhoni, Smith all form a cluster behind Jayawardene IMO. Also I feel Misbah ul Haq could be a good captain. Pity about the team he has to work with though. Link to comment
Desi Cartman
just 6 months ago he was struggling in Aus .. but then he didnt have Mendis in the side .. He is a good captain but not the best IMO Link to comment

Dravid
g. smith is way ahead of everyone... jaya best cappy ROFLLL... he has 2 great spinners atm and he is playing in lanka... stop judgeing based on 1 tour... where was his great captainship in aus? Link to comment
fineleg
Unless a captain can give a fight to Aus in Aus, and can play decently well in Away tours, we cannot say this. MJ is ok, but not the best or anything. Link to comment

MJ is ok, but not the best or anything.[/quote'] Mahela fought pretty hard last series ... You have to remember ... Of course Smith and Ponting will have better records, but look at the teams they have. Besides Smith is not the best tactician. Playing a matchwinning innings as captain, doesnt necessarily make u a good captain ... Ponting is a good tactician, but given his side, poor tactics dont really result in losses anyway. Smith misreads pitches on a regular basis and often gets his bowling rotations wrong (or bowls players from the wrong end). However where Smith bounces back is that he can fight it out and try to make up for his mistakes. Remember Mahela took this Lankan side to the world cup final. Link to comment
Predator_05
He is a very good captain in ODIs. SL have won almost 60% of their matches under him, reached a World Cup final and won the Asia Cup Link to comment

Chaos
He must be regretting having not found out about Mendis 18 months earlier .... they might as well have won the WC. thing is aussies will win even when the score is around 180. 180 from aussies = 250 cuz of their catching, fielding and bowling. And aussies will demolish mendis by using their feet unlike our ****... Link to comment
Chaos
If sehwag can smash mendis like that, just imagine what aussies will do it him.... Link to comment
