Indian superstar Sachin Tendulkar has delayed shooting for a film because of a niggling elbow injury that has kept him out of the team for One-Day Internationals. "When we approached him for the date for shooting of our new film, 'Vighnaharta Shri Siddhivinayak', Sachin said his left elbow had started giving him trouble again. As we could not get immediate dates, we hope to start the film as soon as he recovers," said Rajesh Sanghavi of Vista Films, who is making the film for the 'Shree Siddhi Vinayak Trust'. Tendulkar had to return from the tour of Sri Lanka after the three-Test series because of the injury and had no option but to miss the ongoing five-match ODI series. ================================== I hope this is fake masala khabar - get well soon Boss!:pray::pray:

This is the news we had 15 days back: However, good news for India was that master blaster Sachin Tendulkar's injury was not serious as an MRI scan found him suffering from a swelling in his left elbow joint. "Sachin has got a swelling in the left elbow joint and that is confirmed by an MRI scan. His elbow movements are not comfortable at present," the statement read. But I can't find any other recent news on this front apart from the rubbish Cricketnext source! If anyone gets a recent news, please post here! Hmmm.. just got this news: Sachin off to London? 24 August, 2008 03:18:46 By BIPIN DANI Mumbai Aug. 24: Sachin Tendulkar is believed to be in London. According to unconfirmed information from sources close to the master batsman, he is supposed to be in London to consult a specialist for his injured elbow. Repeated attempts on his Indian mobile number yielded no results. London-based orthopaedic surgeon Andrew Wallace had said he was willing to examine Sachin for his elbow injury. "I am in London but on holiday with my family till Monday and also can’t divulge information if an appointment has been sought for Sachin," Dr Wallace said on Sunday . However, what is confirmed is Sachin is having problems with his injured elbow. "Sachin has been feeling acute pain in the shoulder," Rajesh Sanghavi of Vista Films said. "When we approached him for dates for our new film (Vighnaharta Shri Siddhivinayak), where Sachin is scheduled to play a role. His left elbow was giving him trouble. We therefore could not get immediate dates. We hope to start the film once he is recovers." Sachin had to return after the Test series after sustaining the injury to the same limb on which a tennis elbow operation was performed. So looks like this news is true!

Time for Sachin to retire- his body is quitting on him unfortunately. Elbow injury for a batsman is really serious - it makes it very hard/painful to have a high-elbow form to batting (which is not only coaching-recommended but a hallmark of Tendu at his best) and practically every shot-defensive or offensive- is painful.

SRT has played his last ODI for India. No more SRT for ODIs. He may play tests again but for how long I wonder? I give him a maximum of 2 years after in the playing arena. Actually, he should retire now before injuring his elbow even more against the Aussies (assuming he is fit enoungh to play). I know people here won't like this but we won't be losing much by the retirement of SRT. Rohit Shama to take his place.

You are kidding right? I am a Rohit Sharma fan, but seriously ... do you think Sharma (at this stage of his career) will be able to produce consistently, the amount of runs Sachin produces at no.4? Even over the past 5 years, when Sachin's form has waned, he has still been able to produce a mountain of runs. I am not saying Sachin should risk serious damage, by playing on despite an injured elbow ... but one of the problems is that we will probably never find a no.4 batsman as consistent as him. Sharma is incredibly talented, but so far has not proven he has the penchant for churning out hundreds the way Sachin does. But I believe within 5-7 years, Sharma will be our main batsman in Tests and ODIs.

Rohit to replace Sachin..what crap..listen no one can replace sachin..but its hightime he started seriously thinking abt ODI cricket..the volume of cricket is taking a toll on his body and he cant go on like this in both forms of the game..i think he wud also be seriously giving a thot abt this..maybe this year end he mite retire from ODIs and he wud just continue in tests..as far as retiring from cricket is concerned i definitely dont see that happening atleast till next dec or so unless a career threatening injury come in between which i hope will not
