bharat297
Hayden Marsh Ponting Hussey Clarke Symonds / Watson Haddin Cullen / McGain Tait Clark Lee I feel Shaun Marsh should have opened with Hayden right from the start. I dont rate Johnson that much as a bowler, and feel he doesnt do much with the ball. I reckon Tait would have posed a bigger threat to India, given his sheer pace. Also, since McGain was injured, I reckon the Aussies should have picked Dan Cullen. From what Ive seen, this guy is Australia's best off spinner (he actually turns the ball a decent amount) and given that Cameron White's best delivery is his wrong-un, Australia have effectively picked an off spinner anyway. sharma
i really dont understand this infatuation with "whats best for aus" why do some of us indians, want to spend more time discussing whats best for aus, how to better their team, how will they learn to tackle our bowlers better, how they will get our batsmen out easier... its almost like we want them to do better....we anal-ised them in the last test, lets continue to be ruthless and do the same in the remaning tests. i vaguely remember how jayawardene said prior to the sl-ind test series, that even he has problems picking up mendis in the nets....so how can we. now whether it was true or not is a different matter, but it sent out a good signal. we should be doing stuff along the same lines imho. I cant see whats wrong with that. We are here to discuss cricket....and not just Indian cricket. And discussing whats right or wrong for Australia does not amount to supporting them in any way. And how is Jayawardena's statement relevant here? Link to comment

SG and now dhoni, have removed the soft-ness from our team to an extent, i guess its high time the fans start following suit..no? Link to comment
f.b.m
Lee isnt close to consideration. Bowling pies at 130 does no good for anyone. Bowling line up: Mitchell Johnson Peter Siddle Shaun Tait (only for short bursts) *random spinner who'se there to be smashed* Link to comment

PaiN_KiLLeR
Simon Katich has repeatedly failed to score in spite of getting his eye in in almost every innings. He must be replaced by Shaun Marsh. Also, I would replace the two 'all rounders' Watson & White with a specialist batsman and bowler - David Hussey and Nathan Bracken (they aren't in the squad). Ram
I cannot believe that people like rookies like Peter Siddle are playing in India, while Shaun Tait is taking 5-fors for his state side, at this moment, in Australia Link to comment

M Hussey Hayden Ponting Clarke Katich D Hussey Haddin Casson Lee Johnson Clark Still depth in batting, and plenty of half decent part timers if we start getting tonked: D Hussey, Katich (why hasnt he been bowled???) and Clarke. Thanks for enlivening my evening with some comedy... :hatsoff: I know he broke down in Perth but still anyone who bowls at 150km/h is always a threat. I think he is actually more suited to Indian wickets than Australian ... because Indian wickets have uneven bounce. Trust me ... one bad game doesnt mean Shaun Tait is a bad bowler. I think he is a much better bowler than Mitchell Johnson. Link to comment

But does that stop the countless threads on what the Indian team should be? All these threads are meant to achieve is just to stir up some discussion. Its not meant to be my personal letter to the Chairman of Selectors. Link to comment
